Its Gettin Spooky Around Here...

I started my Halloween decorating....

I started with my mantle. I used some black and white wrapping paper that I already had. I cut it in a thin strip so if my candles spill down, it won't stick to the mantle. I used some jars and vases and put some creepy stuff from Michaels in them.

For the witch and bat silhoutes, I found some images online. I traced them and used an exacto knife to cut them out.

For the front door, I stuck up my fall wreath that I purchased at TJ Maxx a couple years ago. Then I found the black sparkley skeleton at the $1 store! He can hang out til Halloween is over.

*Update* After I posted this, one of my favorite bloggers Vanessa decided to make use of the $1 store skeleton for her  home-made wreath.... Go check it out because hers is way  cuter than mine.


Then when you walk in...

I found these (above & below) orange jar candles at Rite Aid on sale for $3! They smell like spiced pumpkin... Mmmm. I cut out some bats on black card stock then attached them with twine. I love how the frosted glass glows.
I added a few touches of fall here and there. Some fall leaves in an apothacary jar sit in the living room next to the couch.

On the table in the breakfast nook, there are some fall fruits all glitzed up.

Dont look too close.. or you'll notice the beadboard was NEVER finished from forever ago. I started it, and really dont have the motivation to finish it...YET.

This morning I baked banna-nut muffins and then it really felt like fall in my house. Now, I'm just waiting for the weather to catch on to that. ;)

Trick or Treat 2009

I hope you all had a great Halloween weekend. My favorite part was passing out candy to trick-or-treater's for the first time in our first home. It was a homey feeling. As they were coming by, I was in the middle of getting ready for a Halloween party we were going to. By the end of it, I was all done up in my spider lady Ghost outfit. There was one little boy who wouldn't take candy from me because he was too scared. So sad. But it was a blast to see all the kids come up to the door in their costumes.

My husband dressed up as Jason and I was (like I said) a spider-lady ghost. It was the cheapest thing at the Halloween store that didn't show practically all of my skin. I really hate that, when did Halloween turn into girls wearing lingerie???

Later on, we stopped by a local bar with some friends and saw the C-R-A-Z-I-E-S-T thing ever! At about midnight, in walks this older lady in a black veil carrying a real live goat dressed in baby pajamas! Yes, you heard me right- A GOAT! Weird. I had to snap a picture with my iphone to share with you. How else would anyone believe that could happen.  Poor little goat needs a pasture not a bar.  She just sat there and drank her drink then walked out with her goat. I really don't want to know what the rest of her night was like.

 Happy Halloween!!!

My sister Kacey came over yesterday and after a trip to the grocery store we started baking while listing to a lil' Harry Connick Jr. We made some Swiss Chocolate cupcakes with sugar frosting. It was a fun day.

 My cupcakes are the messy ones. The ones that look good - well those are my sisters. I've never claimed to be an artist. =)

 

  

  

We also dressed the pups up in their Halloween costumes...

Sadie Bella was NOT happy with me.

 

  

But I think Rocky really liked his, he wore it all day almost. He loves it. I always call him my little pumpkin anyways...

 

 Tomorrow I'm dressing up as this crazy spider covered ghost lady. It was pretty much the cheapest thing at the Halloween store that didn't include the word slutty (sorry) its its description.
