Autumn is in the Air

We just moved into our first house in March after being married for almost a year. I'm excited to decorate for the seasons in our first home together.I've been seeing some really great ideas on Fall decor out there. Check out OnePrettyThing for a load of ideas. Two great "fall roundups" here and here.

Welcome to my house, I think this is the first photo that I've posted of my front porch. We have plans to paint the wood deck white to match the railing and door. Another day.

Mr. Goodwill skeleton hangin' out with some pumpkins by the front door.

Kitchen table, with some vase fillers from Michaels and apothecary jars I've had.

That is pretty much it for now. As a new homeowner/wife I've just begun working on my Holiday collections. I love to decorate for the holidays so I'm keeping my eyes open for some good cheap decor ideas and shopping deals.

Dream House

Watching Father of the Bride is the first time I can remember falling in love with houses. And its still a classic favorite...

Oh! for the Love of Shutters

When you add shutters to a house, (to me) the visual happiness goes up about 10 notches. I LOVE shutters. They wouldn't work out on my house because of the window placement. =( But everytime I see shutters on a house, it makes me a lil' jealous.

Beautiful House and History

While on our weekend trip (last weekend) we stopped at The Cass House which I drool over every time I see it (a whole three times).

It faces the Pacific Ocean right across the street and the gardens are always in full bloom for the season.

Originally it was the home of Captain James Cass who sailed the Atlantic 31 times before he was even 19. He also named the city Cayucos which means canoe in the language of the Indians who occupied the area.

The house was built in 1867 and was fully restored in 2007 into the Inn & Restaurant it is today.

It is such a peaceful and beautiful place. I would love to stay there one day.

Adventures in Model Homes

My Sunday was full of great things! My good friend Casey and I decided to go look at Model homes to have some free fun. I went over to her house to smell a bunch of Scentsy smells that she sells, I decided on "Lavender", "Beach", and....I forgot the third one. When I got to her house she showed me the pillow that she made from my blog (which I found at Kelly+Olive). Here is Casey showing off her "practically hand-made" ruffle pillow. She rocks.

We made a stop at Goodwill and I found some treasures! I'll post those later. I have a couple of new revamps up my sleeve. Lets just say I will be doing some sanding painting and a wee bit of uphulsering. Then we went to find one particular model home, but when we got there the development was shut down. Dang economy. We were totally bummed because it is SOOO cute inside. We found a different little track to look at though- not as good but still a lot of fun. Oh... we had a blast! To top it off, we picked up my hubby and headed to get spicey bloody mary and some appetizers! Great day.

My fav is the one of the bottom, it kinda reminds me of the Father of The Bride house.
Me, sipping fake tea.

Casey testing out the comfy bed.

I want that mirror!
This was my favorite room in all the houses. I like the chair and the red punches.
ohhhhhh awesome lamp.

A comfy little nook at the top of the stair case...

We got silly
I'm"shaving" my legs...

and Casey is taking care of some business.

Cool what they did with the molding in the corner for a "head board"
ahhh, no makeup on a lazy Sunday- whatever, the bloody mary was gooood.

Ryan, hes so great to me.
Casey enjoying yummy nachos.
