Today I wanted to leave you with a cozy feeling for the weekend. So I decided to feature a house that I feel is so very homey, comfortable and beautiful. Its not a cookie cutter, all done in one weekend kind of house. It's a flea market, antique style, loved home. A house you want to open a bottle of wine in and chat with good friends. I came across Morning T Blog last night and got hooked. Lets just say I was up waaaay past my bed time (like 2:30am). I couldn't tear myself away. I had to look at every single post. I'm such a Peeping Tom, so I loooooove getting a virtual tour of other peoples homes. I take my dogs on their walk just around dusk, because thats optimal peeping time. Oh my gosh, I sound like a total creeper. I don't want to see people, just their decor, furniture and paint colors! Anways, enough of my freaky stalkerness, lets get to the tour...
Last night I copied this idea (above) which I have also seen on here on Finding Fabulous. I made my own (or three) twine wrapped wine bottles and added some pottery barn style letters painted on them. I'll show you soon.
LOVE this home!! Can you tell what color that is on the back wall? In photo it looks like a really cool dark grey green and then in another it looks brown??
ReplyDeleteI also love to look into houses--it is so interesting. That looks like a beautiful house.
ReplyDeleteI'm the same way about looking at people's houses. There is this house just around the corner from us that I make my husband drive by real slow if it's dark out so I can see in! LOL I'm surprised they haven't called the cops on us yet! Love your blog by the way! I'm getting ready to re-do some of my old furniture and I'm getting some inspiration and I've been staying up way too late looking at blogs.
ReplyDeleteYour home is lovely! And I'm the exact same way about checking out other people's homes. It's always so neat to see how other people decorate...so don't worry, we won't judge you! ;)
ReplyDeleteKarli you are TOO sweet!! I think we're all alike. Not sure if you saw my post today but I've gone so far as to ask people what they're carrying in their handbags. :-) We're all peepers at some level. I'm absolutely flattered that you've featured my home on your GREAT blog and can't believe you were able to find the only picture of my master bedroom and my first tablescape. Such fun.
ReplyDeleteTHANK YOU and happy weekend. I'll be peeping in on your blog this weekend.
PS- Part of my motivation to get up at the crack of dawn and go running every day is to be able to look at the cool houses in my neighborhood. I've almost tripped over myself a thousand times trying to see inside homes.
Angie- the paint color on the family room wall is a chocolate brown suede paint by Ralph Lauren.
I absolutely adore this house! I love all the textures and the hydrangea everywhere. all the different shades of white and cream compliment each other SO nicely, and I love the little pops of green leaves as well as the burlap/drop cloth place mats.
ReplyDeleteI could really look at this house all night! it's beautiful.
