Be sure to wear some Flowers in your hair...

Yesterday evening after work I was inspired to get jump on the hot glue gun band wagon by Abby over at A Feathered Nest with her flower clip tutorial. I decided to go a little smaller with my flowers. Plus I couldn't find any cool layered peony flowers at my local Michaels. So I went with some summery hues for my little buds.
I bought three stems of flowers for about $1.25 each with 3-4 flower heads on each one. A set of aligator clips were $1.99 at Michaels. I busted out my wire cutters and cut each head off the steam as close as I could get it to the flower base. Then just hot glued them to the clip. Easy Peasy and super cheap. I couldn't help but sing "If your going to San Francisco be sure to wear flowers in your hair...If you're going to San Francisco, you're gonna meet some gentle people there" Then of course I had to listen to the song... you can too here.
Enjoy the scenery...

To make it even better- while I was crafting my husband was cookin up some suuuper good carne asada tacos. Mmmmm. I'm glad I married a man who likes to cook. Somebody's got to!

  4. Just popped over from One Pretty Thing- I laughed when I saw your photos, because I have these same flowers in my stash, and have handed out barrettes to quite a few little girls! Although, I had to take the stamen out and sew a bead in the center before I glue them on- my flowers were falling apart if I didn't? Maybe it's because I used E-6000... I'm still scared of the hot glue gun :) I LOVE how these turned out!
