Take the Cake, another DIY

Just so you know I don't go to Goodwill EVERY DAY. A lot of my post's start out with "At Goodwill" or something along those lines, but most of the time three or more posts come from the same Goodwill trip. Just a disclaimer. =)

On that note...I was at Goodwill the other day when I saw a set of two random glass bases. I have no idea what they were suppose to be for. They don't have a regular shaped hole for a candle, so they couldn't have been candle holders..? Curious.

When I saw them I thought I could turn them into stands for some cool plates. So I held onto them for a week or so until I decided to make some cake (or whatever) stands with a plate/bowl set that I had and some E-6000. After I did this with the silver tray here, I couldn't stop!

  1. Turned out great! Love the color. I'm going to have to get some of that E-6000 stuff. Can you get it at Michael's? Great job!

  16. Adorable! Just found your blog today, thought the cake stands were a great idea. You will not believe it, but I went to a local thrift store at lunch, got the same glass base for 50 cents! Couldn't believe it when I saw it sitting on the shelf. Now I just have to get some of the E6000!. Thanks for the great idea

  17. Would you share the secret of where the plates came from? I have googled red damask dishes or plates forever and can't find any as cute as these!
